Ekaterina Leontjewa wurde in 1966 in Smolensk (Russland) geboren.
Von 1984 bis 1992 studierte sie am Moskauer Tschaikowski-Konservatorium Orgel und Musikwissenschaft.
2011 hat sie an der Evangelischen Hochschule für Kirchenmusik in Halle mit dem A-Diplom ein weiteres Studium erfolgreich abgeschlossen.
Seit 1987 führt Ekaterina Leontjewa eine aktive Konzerttätigkeit in Russland und Europa aus.
Von 1993 bis 2005 hat sie in Sankt Petersburg gelebt, wo sie als Solistin der Kammerphilharmonie und als Leiterin des Kammerensembles „Vox Humana“ tätig war. Sie gastierte bei vielen Orgelfestivals, u. a. dem „Musica del Mendrisiotto“ in der Schweiz, dem „L’heure d‘ Orgue“ in Arles sur Tech (Frankreich), den Festivals „Swany Sofii“ und „Mogutny Boje“ in Weißrussland und dem „International Tallinn Organ Festival“ in Estland.
Weiterhin gastierte Leontjewa u. a. am Grazer Dom (Österreich), der Schlosskirche Wittenberg und anderen bedeutenden Kirchen Deutschlands und Europas.
Im Jahr 2000 hat sie einen internationalen Orgelwettbewerb für die Jugend „Gatschina-Sankt Petersburg“ mit organisiert.
Seit 2005 lebt Ekaterina Leontjewa in Halle (Saale).
Neben ihrer Konzerttätigkeit hat sie in Halle (Saale) ein deutsch-russisches Orgelfestival ins Leben gerufen, welches im Zusammenhang mit dem Sankt Petersburger Wettbewerb steht.
Von 2014 bis 2021 lehrte sie an der Universität Halle-Wittenberg.
Seit 2017 ist sie Assistenzprofessorin am C-Seminar der Hochschule für Kirchenmusik in Halle (Saale).
Zudem wurde Ekaterina Leontjewa im Jahr 2020 als Kirchenmusikerin und Organistin an die Ev. Stadtkirche St. Marien Roßlau (Elbe) berufen und ist in der Evangelischen Landeskirche Anhalts im Regionalpfarramt Roßlau tätig.
Zur ihren Aufgaben als Organistin und Kantorin gehört auch das Spielen in mehreren umliegenden Kirchen, oft auf gut erhaltenen historischen Orgeln.
Leontjewa hat dort eine Konzertreihe ins Leben gerufen, die ein wichtiger Teil des kulturellen Lebens der Region geworden ist.
Ekaterina Leontjewa ist auch als Komponistin tätig und hat Werke für Klavier und Orgel geschrieben sowie CDs aufgenommen.
Born in 1966 in Smolensk, Russia, Ekaterina Leontjewa pursued her studies in organ and musicology at the Tchaikovsky Conservatory in Moscow from 1984 to 1992. She successfully completed additional studies at the Protestant University of Church Music in Halle in 2011 and obtained an A-diploma.
Since 1987, Leontjewa has been an active concert performer in both Russia and Europe. From 1993 to 2005, she resided in St. Petersburg and served as a soloist with the Chamber Philharmonic and director of the chamber ensemble „Vox Humana“. She has participated in numerous organ festivals such as the „Musica del Mendrisiotto“ in Switzerland, „L’heure d’Orgue“ in Arles sur Tech (France), „Swany Sofii“ and „Mogutny Boje“ in Belarus, and the „International Tallinn Organ Festival“ in Estonia. Additionally, Leontjewa has been a guest performer at notable churches in Germany and Europe, including Graz Cathedral in Austria, Wittenberg Castle Church, and others.
In 2000, she co-organized an international organ competition for young musicians in Gatchina-Saint Petersburg. Currently residing in Halle (Saale) since 2005, Leontjewa has not only been active in concert performances but has also initiated a German-Russian organ festival in Halle, which is linked to the St. Petersburg competition.
From 2014 to 2021, she taught at the University of Halle-Wittenberg. Since 2017, she has been an assistant professor at the C-Seminar of the University of Church Music in Halle (Saale).
Recently, in 2020, Leontjewa was appointed as a church musician and organist at St. Marien Roßlau (Elbe) Protestant City Church and now works in the regional parish of Roßlau in the Evangelical Church of Anhalt.
Her responsibilities as an organist and cantor also include performing at various churches in the surrounding areas, often on well-preserved historic organs. Leontjewa has also launched a concert series that has become a significant part of the region’s cultural scene. Apart from her performance career, she is also active as a composer and has composed pieces for piano and organ, as well as recorded CDs.
